About me and my therapy practice
SEX THERAPY for individuals and partners experiencing:
- Erection problems
- Premature/early ejaculation
- Delayed ejaculation
- Pain and penetration problems
- Loss of desire or low desire
Sex therapy is a type of talking therapy that’s designed to help you achieve sexual satisfaction and resolve any difficulties you’re having in your intimate and sexual relationships.
While some sexual difficulties have a biological cause, often there’s psychological, emotional or social reasons too. This is where sex therapy can help.
Talking about sex can be difficult for many people, and talking about sexual health problems can be even harder. But you don’t have to suffer alone. I work with individuals and partners of all sexual orientations, gender identities and relationship preferences to help you make sense of things and work with you to create a specific treatment plan. Don’t let embarrassment stop you from getting the help that you need and that works.
Sex therapy can also support people experiencing:
- Loss of desire or difficulties with arousal
- Painful penetration
- Orgasm problems
- Unreliable erections
- Ejaculation difficulties, such as rapid or delayed ejaculation
- PMS, PMDD, perimenopause and menopause
- Sexual phobias or aversions
- Fetishes and kink
- Compulsive sexual behaviours
- Sexual violence and abuse
- Questions or challenges with their sexuality
- Gender dysphoria, or questions around their gender identity
- Exploring or changing to a new gender expression and navigating challenges around transitioning
Practice description
Sessions last for 1 hour and most of my clients choose to have appointments either every week or fortnightly. Appointments can be online or from my office in Northwich, Cheshire.
In those sessions I’ll support you to explore and learn about what’s going on for you, and we may agree self-help tools, practical exercises to be done at home, increasing sexual self-confidence and comfort in sexuality or sexual relationships.
Sessions are strictly talking therapy, and any exercises are to be done by the individual or partners outside of sessions.
My first session
I offer a free half-hour consultation to help you decide whether to start counselling with me. You can check my availability and book your free initial consultation online. You will receive a confirmation email and an email reminder before your appointment.
In this half-hour appointment, I will first explain how I approach confidentiality before spending around 20 minutes talking about what’s going on for you and what you hope to get from therapy. There will also be opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.
