About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced qualified therapist that can offer individuals a place where they can be heard in a safe, confidential environment at my private practice in Narborough in Leicestershire. All of us at times need help with difficult painful life issues, and I know personally how empowering it is to ‘heard’ without the fear of being judged. I work in a person-centred way, which means that the client, you, are at the centre of your therapy. I am also trained in cognitive behavioural therapy which can, if desired, can give added focus to my therapeutic approach. I have over the years studied in different therapeutic approaches {see list below} so I now consider myself an integrative counsellor, which allows me to be adaptable in my approach to different client issues. This includes working creatively & that can be discussed in sessions whether you would be comfortable working in this way. I have also completed an introduction to working with young people {age 11-18} I am continuously studying to work on my own continuous personal development & to promote my professional work. I work alongside you, offering unconditional acceptance, compassion & empathy to guide you through your personal journey. Some of my areas of specialties, are bereavement, anticipatory grief, suicidal ideation, anxiety, self- esteem, depression & trauma. I work with all types of pregnancy loss & infertility. I am flexible in my approach & can work in creative ways to achieve the best outcome for each individual client. I work face-to-face; online/telephone counselling by arrangement; short-term; long term therapy; time limited.

Availability
I am now offering face to face supervision at the Manse in Narborough which is a safe & confidential place on Saturdays only 10am-3pm. I will also continue to work online/telephone supervision if supervisees prefer to work remotely usually Fridays 10-3 No evenings.
About me and my therapy practice
As an experienced therapist for over 13 years, I can offer trainee & qualified therapists a vast experience in different counselling issues {see counsellor profile for details}. I am trained in the Seven Eyed Model of Supervision Level 6 advanced diploma. I have been a supervisor for over 5 years, and my diploma covers online and telephone supervision. The main emphasis of supervision is not in the model of approach, but in the connection & the quality of relationship between two professionals. I can offer a safe, confidential, comfortable & accessible place in a small town in Narborough with easy access on the ground floor. I consider myself to an integrative therapist, although my core model is Person- Centered. Supervision for me is about a space to reflect, learn & grow as professionals, & that can only happen if our relationship is one of mutual trust & respect. As your Supervisor I will focus on keeping good ethical boundaries that adheres to the BACP, or/and other professional bodies, guidelines in client safety & enhancing their therapeutic process. I will offer you as your supervisor, the core conditions of unconditional positive regard, congruence & empathy, which then is reflected in the client/ counsellor relationship. I will also help you focus on the key issues that you bring to supervision & guide you in areas of concern, whether ethical issues or how client issues are affecting you professionally or personally. Supervision is a collaborative confidential process between Supervisor & Supervisee, to offer education, support, perspective, which in turn you can take back to your clients to enhance their therapy for a positive outcome. I believe that supervision can give us so much more as we explore the client’s world, we are invariably touched by their ‘story’, to learn about our own internal world & self-awareness as we develop professionally.

My first session
The Supervisory relationship is vital, as well as ethical when offering therapy to clients. Therefore, I offer an hour at a reduced cost to assess our compatibility as Supervisor & Supervisee. In this session we get to know each other & assess, depending on the specialism of therapy you offer, whether I as your potential Supervisor can offer the support you need. I am quite experienced in most areas of therapy but will be honest with you if I think I cannot support you. It is also important that we feel that we are compatible in the way we work & how we feel as individuals that we can work alongside each other. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to have a supportive Supervisor, that will offer a different perspective, be encouraging & fully committed to your learning as a therapist. I also belong to the Creative Counsellors Community and being creative in supervision can at times enhance our learning, which is a continual process.
