About me and my therapy practice

You are not alone! Depression is a genuine illness that comes with real symptoms. It’s important to understand that depression isn’t a sign of weakness, nor is it something you can simply "snap out of" by "pulling yourself together". Statistically, one in three individuals will face depression at some point in their lives. While half of these individuals may only go through one episode, others may experience recurring bouts of depression. The good news is that with appropriate treatment and support, most people can recover from depression. Through Person-Centred Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD), you can delve into and comprehend the emotions that contribute to your depression. The goal of this counselling approach is to help you access and make sense of those underlying feelings, empowering you to develop new perspectives on yourself and the world around you.

Dale Goulding BACP Accredited Psychotherapist. PCE CfD has helped hundreds of people overcome emotional difficulties and achieve a sense of well-being.

Practice description

I focus on helping individuals dealing with depression. As a fully qualified and accredited Counsellor for Depression, I hold the MBACP Accreditation and PCE-CfD certification. PCE-CfD is a psychological therapy that is endorsed by IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) for effectively treating depression. This evidence-based framework was created by BACP and serves as the foundation for the IAPT National Curriculum for counselling for Depression (CfD).

My first session

In our initial session, we'll have the opportunity to connect and explore the potential for a therapeutic relationship, which will be essential for our collaboration. During this time, we'll conduct an assessment and outline your therapeutic goals. We might also go through a few straightforward questionnaires.
