About me and my therapy practice
I practice from a humanistic integrative approach which means that I use theories and techniques from various psychotherapeutic perspectives. I have developed this approach based on my own values, but more importantly so as to be able to work in the way that best suits your needs. Above all, it is the therapeutic relationship that I believe to be the most important aspect in healing and development.
I use techniques that include Gestalt, Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I have a Masters degree in Advanced Clinical Practice (Counselling and Psychotherapy) and an FdA in Counselling.
I work face to face sessions, and also offer online therapy via video, audio or email if you would prefer to work that way. I am a qualified cyber therapist, having trained at the Online Therapy Institute. Please do get in touch if you would like more details of how online therapy works.
Practice description
You can contact me via the contact form on this website, or on the phone, or via my website catherinelindsay-davies.com. I will reply to you letting you know what session times I have available and we will discuss how you would like to work; face to face, video, audio or email.
Online therapy can be just as effective as face to face therapy, but it is important that those offering it are properly trained. It can be particularly helpful for clients who are unable to leave the home, not just for practical reasons such as during this health crisis, or for reasons of accessibility, but also for those who may be experiencing anxiety, depression or shame.
In our first session, I will invite you to let me know more about why you are seeking therapy, and what you want to get from it. If you are happy to continue, we will agree to work for a number of sessions together to help you explore these issues. You can end therapy at any time, or we can continue for as long as you are happy to and are finding the therapy beneficial.
As an integrative therapist, I use a range of theoretical approaches to support my work, all chosen to be the most helpful to you as the client.

About me and my therapy practice
As your supervisor, I aim to work with you in a non-judgemental way, providing a supportive and empathic working environment in which we can explore your client work in a creative yet gently challenging way. This includes, but is not limited to; practical aspects to ensure that you are working safely, legally and ethically; educative aspects to help you grow as a counsellor and to help you explore new perspectives; restorative aspects to ensure your own well being in your work.
I have an Advanced Certificate in Supervision.
Practice description
My theoretical underpinning is Integrative, incorporating both Humanistic and Relational Analytical theories and concepts. If you are a trainee, it may be important that you find a therapist who works with the same theoretical approach as you, and this should be discussed before we agree to work together. My first session
In our first supervision session, we will take some time to get to know each other and explore our working relationship, what you are looking for in your supervision, as well as any questions you may have.
If you are happy to continue, we will discuss and agree our contract.
