About me and my therapy practice
Do you feel overwhelmed and anxious? Do you replay awkward moments over and over whilst struggling and trying to fall asleep, wishing things were different. Do you feel that you are constantly pleasing others at the cost of your own needs. You might feel you struggle to be in control of life. "If only I was " We can struggle to value ourselves with all that is happening. We fear our low self-esteem could be affecting our work, our relationships and our self-image. Coping can be lonely and stressful. You feel counselling could offer more in control. It would help figure out how to set boundaries and help to change your interactions.
I am an experienced counsellor, an Accredited Member of BACP. I work in a way which offers you a time to talk and be heard about your life. In therapy we build better self-awareness and self-understanding. I work with you to help you remove ambiguity and have a greater ability to trust in yourself your relationships and the self-expression in your life.
It can be daunting to choose a counsellor for the first time so in addition to checking out my website ( https://consideratecounselling.co.uk) you might want to book a free 20-minute phone call with me just check that you feel you could work with me. About me and my therapy practice
I offer supervision that aims to be collaborative and offers space to reflect on your work and your therapy. I offer the opportunity for you to reflect on personal and professional issues that are influencing your practice. There is space to explore feelings that are difficult, uncomfortable or when we are just unsure of what is going on. Sometimes that will be about sharing experience, exploring the work with a client or exploring theory, yet most of the time it will be about helping you develop your therapy with clients. Ultimately, the intention is to help you to grow as a therapist.
My own background is working in a variety of organisations, including the NHS, Higher education and charities before setting up my own private counselling practice. I see both long term and time limited clients from a variety of referral sources. There is a wide range of presentations, the reward and challenge is in helping them to discover themselves again.
I see supervisees both on-line (uk wide) at my home on the south side of Glasgow (in person) offering appointments by agreement.
There are good public transport links and plenty of car parking.
I welcome prospective supervisees having a free exploratory first session.
