My first session
Introductory Call
I offer all prospective new clients a free brief initial telephone call for us to learn a little about one another. If it feels that we might be the right fit and can offer a time to suit, we can arrange to meet for our initial consultation.
Initial Consultation
Our initial consultation will provide us with the opportunity to explore your needs in more depth and allow us to arrive at a decision about working together. You'll have space to talk about the reasons bringing you to counselling and we'll explore your historical context, your current circumstances and your expectations for therapy. You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions about how counselling will work and some of the practicalities. If by the end of our first meeting, we both feel that we'd like to continue working together we'll agree a suitable, regular appointment time going forward. If it’s felt that another approach or a different counsellor might be more suitable for you, I would be happy to support you in offering some referral options.
