About me and my therapy practice
After a childhood marked by frequent international moves and years of work in Africa and Asia, I settled in Edinburgh and returned to university to pursue my long-standing interest in child development. My previous career, often in conflict or crisis zones, exposed me to the trauma experienced by young people, sparking my interest in their resilience and cultural approaches to mental health.
Young people, regardless of their background, often face complex challenges that can benefit from professional support. Therapy offers a valuable space for them to process difficult emotions and experiences, with talking and play therapy providing effective tools for understanding and healing.
Over the past decade, I’ve completed thousands of hours of one-on-one child and adolescent counselling and psychotherapy. My pscyhodynamic, integrative approach tailors the therapeutic method to the needs of each client.
I’ve worked with young people facing a wide range of challenges, including ASD, ADHD, anxiety, self-harm, attachment disorders, OCD, anger, gender dysphoria, PTSD, bereavement, and family-related challenges. This work is deeply rewarding, and I’ve repeatedly witnessed the transformative power of therapy in young lives.
