About me and my therapy practice
I am a friendly, experienced counsellor with a warm, supportive way of being with you. My approach is honest, open and clear. Counselling gives you time and space to really look at your life, to offload, to reflect and to both accept things and make changes.
I see you as an individual person with your own way of living your life. We are all different. Together we explore your situation, your choices, your relationship with yourself and others. We look at the 'rules' you seem to live by and check together if they really work well for you. We acknowledge the painful parts whether they be coming through as anxiety, stress or depression. We find ways that help you to move forward with a greater sense of self respect, self compassion and well being.
I value equality, honesty, individuality, fairness, appropriate humour and the right for each person to be free to live by their own values and wishes.
Practice description
I offer effective therapy in person, via video, phone, and by email exchange. All work well to help us form a trusting relationship so that you feel at ease to 'speak' and to work through your thoughts and feelings. For some people the anonymity of phone or email is helpful. For others, sitting together in a peaceful room feels more welcoming and comfortable. Video calls give us opportunity to connect equally well just in a different way and suit those who are not close by or can't spare the travel time. If you are not sure, feel free to call or email so we can chat through the options before we begin. I like to be flexible and find what suits you best.
My first session
It's important that you find the right therapist for you. At the first session you may have questions or simply wish to meet me and get a sense of how well we connect. I aim to help you feel at ease, talk through what we each expect of each other, get an idea of how person centred therapy works and gently ask what brings you to counselling.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer a supportive, consultative supervision space for us to explore together your process, your challenges and your successes. My way of working is person centred with a creative, reflective, collaborative approach. I will say what I see, listen well, direct and challenge you to inspire confidence and growth.
Practice description
I am experienced with supervising therapists and supervisors in person here in Portishead and online via video link. I believe that the working relationship we create with each other is of most importance. I am here for you and your clients, to support, to encourage, to challenge, to help you see what maybe you haven't yet seen for yourself. I take time to check in with how you are, both in life and with work as I feel it important to acknowledge the wider picture. We then focus on your clients, any themes, areas of discomfort or challenge as well as moments of depth and progress. I value honesty, clarity, mutual trust, and will work hard to encourage you to work well.
My first session
I offer you a free introductory half hour so that we can check that we feel comfortable with each other and are well enough aligned in our ways of working and being with our clients/supervisees.
