About me and my therapy practice
At Silver Moon Counselling, I offer Person Centred Therapy - a Humanistic Approach that deals with the ways in which a person consciously views themselves. I am client-led and do not offer you advice, but trust that the relationship we develop together will allow you to find what you need.
I offer therapy to Adults, Young People and Children (aged 5 years plus) from my private therapy room and am comfortable working in a variety of ways. I can use creative media to help explore and find a way for you to explore your inner world and how this is impacting you.
I am a qualified Animal Assisted Therapist and at this time I work with Charlie and Rex - 2 animal assisted Guinea Pigs who are doing amazing work with a variety of clients.
I am also a Level 6 in Counselling Supervision qualified Supervisor - if this is something which would interest you, please let me know and see my Supervisor page.
There are any number of reasons for entering counselling and therapy, including low self-esteem, a lack of self-reliance and resistance to change and new experiences. These can be experienced by adults, children or young people. The person centred approach recognises that our relationships (work or home) and the environment in which we live, can impact how we feel and behave, so I offer therapy in a neutral and comfortable setting where you can feel at ease, making you open to learning about yourself.
Working together, I can offer you:
Better awareness and understanding of your 'self' and who you are.
Increased awareness and understanding around your defenses, your coping strategies, insecurity and guilt.
The opportunity and ability to trust you and the decisions you make.
Healthier, more positive relationships, either personal or professional.
Improvement in how you express you as a person and verbalize your needs to others.
A genuine, healthy and balanced sense of change.
This can happen in your own time.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified Counselling Supervisor.
I have completed a Level 6 Course in Counselling Supervision and am insured to offer this work.
Practice description
For me, it is paramount that additional training is undertaken to ensure safe and ethical practice at all levels.
The Supervisory role is such an important part of counselling practice and underpins and protects our work and our profession.
I work from a Person Centred modality in my Supervision and I utilise Hawkins and Shohet's (1985) 7 Eyed Model to support our work.
I am able to support Adult, Child and Young Person work, as well as Animal Assisted Therapies (I can also incorporate this into our Supervision).
Working within the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice (2018), this holds our work safely and ethically, alongside the further supervision that I undertake to offer this type of work.
Please contact me to discuss whether we might be able to work together.
My first session
Our initial session would always undertake the form of an assessment where I gather information on how you work and your qualifications etc. I also need to know what you require and expect from us working together.
We will talk through and agree and written agreement which will underpin our work moving forwards.
I always encourage open and honest dialogue - this leads to healthy discussion and best practice.
