About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Maria Wright, I am an experienced, qualified, BACP accredited, Integrative Counsellor and a Supervisor. I have been trained in a number of theoretical approaches including person centred, CBT and psychodynamic theory and will tailor my approach to the needs of my client. I offer a warm, friendly and supportive environment to support personal development and change.
I am a registered, accredited member of the BACP and work within its ethical framework. I have spent a number of years working with people in Social Services, and have counselled clients in a GP practice and in a mental health charity as well as running a private practice working with people with a wide range of emotional difficulties.
I have a Degree in Psychosocial Studies, a Diploma in Integrative Counselling from Inter-Psyche; West Kent NHS & Social Care Trust Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Studies, and a Diploma in Integrative Supervision from The Minster Centre, London. I hold a postgraduate diploma in CBT from Canterbury Christ Church University and I am an accredited member of the BABCP
I am also a qualified Clinical Supervisor and have undertaken an IAPT CBT supervisor course at the University of Surrey as well as a Diploma in Supervision at the Minster Centre, London. I have supervised counsellors, psychotherapists and Psychological Well-being Practitioners.
How can Counselling help you?
It enables you to talk about, and explore, the problems and difficulties that you have encountered in your life. A counsellor can help you to look at how you respond to difficulties and explore different ways of dealing with situations. Counselling is confidential and gives you the opportunity to discuss feelings and experiences, hopefully allowing you to move towards a greater understanding of yourself and your life.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified, experienced clinical supervisor, I have a diploma in Integrative supervision from the Minster Centre, London and have undertaken an IAPT CBT supervisory practice course at the University of Surrey. I have over 12 years of experience in clinical supervision and I have supervised trainee and qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and psychological wellbeing practitioners (PWP) both in groups and individually.
I view the supervision relationship as a formal, confidential, professional relationship; I offer an integrative approach to supervision, and attempt to tailor my approach as much as possible to the modality of the supervisee.
I aim to offer a safe and reliable relationship, providing support, and at times, supportive challenge. I will help you identifying strengths and areas that need further development and will give you support to develop and reinforce your competence and confidence.
