About me and my therapy practice
Feelings such as anxiety, depression, stress, anger and loss can be difficult to deal with on our own; change and uncertainty may heighten these feelings and make life very challenging. You may be concerned about your relationships with partner, friends and family; or perhaps you’re struggling with feelings of loneliness and isolation. I offer a place to voice your thoughts and feelings, and in time, come to a fuller understanding of yourself and what makes you, you. Talking and being heard can help you to make sense of difficult issues, whether from the past or the present. I am interested in your childhood as I believe what we learn and experience from birth, and how we formed relationships, impacts us as adults.
Practice description
I currently work online, offering sessions via Zoom, Skype and FaceTime. I also offer phone counselling if this is preferred.
I offer an initial phone or Zoom consultation of 10-20 minutes which is free. This helps us decide if we are a good fit to work together.
My first session
Your first session will last for 50 minutes, as will following sessions. It's an opportunity to tell me more about yourself and what brings you to counselling now. Many people worry that they won't be able to fill a session by talking about themselves - it can feel unusual or difficult to do this. I will facilitate the process, helping you to reflect on a point or a feeling, encouraging you to express and explore your feelings. It's a bit like going on a journey, with an ally by your side.
During the first session we will think together about what you hope to get from therapy. There is no obligation to continue after the first session, but if we both feel that we can work together I usually suggest we have 4-6 sessions and then review how the counselling is going.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified counsellor, registered and accredited with BACP. I have 19 years experience of counselling children, young people and adults in education, the voluntary sector and in private practice. I've been supervising counsellors and therapists for the past 8 years and hold a Diploma in Clinical Supervision.
Practice description
The aim of supervision is to address your development, offer support, and enable you to comply with professional standards.
The primary focus of supervision is the welfare of the client, through your learning process in terms of knowledge attainment and skills development.
I believe that supervision, like counselling and therapy, is relational, and it is a collaborative relationship.
I work online, offering sessions via Zoom.
I offer an initial phone or Zoom consultation which is free, during which we will find out more about each other and how we work, and decide if we want to work together.
My first session
During the first session I will enquire about your previous experience of supervision or learning and explore how this fits with what you want or don’t want from supervision with me. We will discuss your theoretical orientation and how that determines your supervisory needs.
We will explore what you want to develop in supervision, and your long-term goals.
I believe that supervision is a relationship in which you, the therapist, can feel safe enough to talk about mistakes.
