About me and my therapy practice

Welcome and thank you for visiting my profile.

if you are reading this you may be thinking about taking a step towards seeking help and struggling with something that you feel you can no longer tackle alone or maybe you just don’t feel like yourself, which is ok, it is not unusual and no one should have to face difficult situations on their own, I believe no one should have to suffer. Together we can find coping mechanisms and a way forward in a safe and non-judgmental environment and walk the journey together.

Testimonials

Amma made me feel comfortable straight away. She is very easy to talk to and comes across very kind and non-judgmental. She gave me very useful insights and tools to help with anxiety and I would recommend her to anyone coming for therapy. - Female, 25-40

I am happy that I talked to you and grateful that you're taking your time to understand what I'm going through. It has opened up my eyes and ears a bit and feels like I am getting positive energy back. It has been really helpful. - Male, 30-50

The process gave me confidence to look at myself and your guidance helped me unpack and look at issues. The space you held and created made me feel able to share. You always let me know what you were doing and you are a safe pair of hands and you made it easy. Thank you for everything. - Female, 40-60

I am a reflective, inclusive and understanding counsellor who has experience with both young people and adults in 1 to 1 and group settings.   I have worked n an NHS funded counselling service where my clients are referred to me by the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust. I have proven successful results with my clients and feedback from NHS data has shown that I have a consistently high number of clients who have experienced positive change during their sessions.

Practice description

I am an experienced counsellor who has worked both both face to face and online via telephone and video and hold an additional diploma for online counselling.

I have a specific interest in anxiety and depression resulting from the ‘isms’ and ‘shoulds’ in life including but not limited to sexism, racism and other social constructs which can impact on our identity. I have helped people with a range of issues including workplace issues, relationships, bereavement, confidence and self-esteem, sexuality and life transitions.

I am a sensitive listener and my clients often feedback to me a real sense of being heard in our sessions and being made to feel comfortable straight away. Talking through your issues and making sense of how you are feeling can make you feel empowered and propel you to take action to make the changes you feel you need in your life.

I appreciate the journey to finding the right counsellor can feel overwhelming (well done for making it this far), why not contact me for an informal chat?

My first session

I welcome contact via email or telephone to arrange a 20 minute free call (don't worry, if I am with a client, I will get back to you as soon as I can).

We will talk about what brings you to seek therapy and it's also a chance for you to ask me any questions, if you feel comfortable, the next step is to arrange our first full session in the form of an assessment, we then discuss if you would like further ongoing sessions,

I am an Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their Code of Ethics in all areas of my work.

I hold professional indemnity insurance and have a current DBS (Disclosure & Baring Service) check. I have completed both Children and Adult Safeguarding training.
