About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP Accredited counsellor and psychotherapist, working with adults and young people of 16 and above. I practice in a person-centred way, drawing on other therapeutic skills to suit your needs.
I am known for being calming, gentle and resilient, creating a safe space for you to explore whatever you may choose to bring. I have an ability to reach out and connect at depth with people who are finding life a struggle, suffering and experiencing sadness. I consider it a privilege to work alongside my clients at these times, providing support and enabling insight, whilst they work through whatever is hurting them.
I see counselling as an opportunity to explore feelings, reactions and possible solutions in an atmosphere of trust, non-judgement and respect. My intention is to create a calm, caring and confidential space which clients can use to talk things through.
I am constantly inspired by my clients' ability to empower themselves to stay safe, healthy, happy and to feel more 'alive'.
I bring a sense of faith and hope to our work together and a strong belief in your ability to find a peaceful and positive outcome.
Practice description
I run a private counselling practice just outside Colchester. I have a dedicated therapy room set in a peaceful location with plenty of free parking.
My training as an integrative counsellor means I can draw on other therapeutic modalities - such as transactional analysis, c.b.t, psychodynamic, gestalt, psychoanalytic and transpersonal thinking - to best suit your needs.
I work with people of all ages and backgrounds who bring a wide range of issues and I am comfortable working with whatever you may bring to the sessions.
More specifically, I have experience in:
Bereavement and Loss (volunteer counsellor at St. Helena Hospice)
Member of the Counselling Team at the Turner Centre, Colchester
Stillbirth and Neo-natal-death (including SANDS - Stillbirth and Neo-Natal-Death Society training)
Mental Health (Counsellor for MIND)
All issues including suicide (volunteer for Samaritans), anxiety, depression. loss of confidence, self-harm.
I hold full indemnity insurance and regularly attend clinical supervision to ensure I maintain competent and safe practice.
You can reach me by email or leaving a message on my confidential voicemail. I will return your call as soon as possible.
