About me and my therapy practice
I am a Person Centred Counsellor working with all aspects of mental health difficulties including but not exhaustive of anxiety. depression, childhood ACES and bereavement in adults and young people.
I offer Counselling and supporting strategies for recovery with lifelong resilience to cope.
I also specialise in ASD, ADHD and Dyslexia having worked in SEN schools for ten years inclusive of ages 6 to 25 years old. My work covers all aspects of special educational needs and differing strategies to cope both socially and academically.
Emotional wellbeing is the first stage of any attainment to education and achievement and supports our foundations to successful friendships and socialising.
Student Counsellors are welcomed to the fold where we can work together in all aspects of your journey through life and the Counselling world.
I have qualified teacher status and have delivered level 2 and 3 Counselling qualifications and supported level 4 students.
I offer Group therapy support for parents who are finding themselves overwhelmed especially with the difficulties surrounding them of special educational needs.
All of my work is client lead in respect of your personal choices and way of being.
Practice description
Monday and Tuesday evenings:
Person centred counselling in Rochester high street which has served it's purpose since Dickensian times. A personal room for one to one sessions that can take place in confidentiality.
An intercom system on entry for your safety and security, with a meet and greet as you enter the stairway to relax you into the session.
Sessions are 50 minutes but I offer shorter sessions or a walk and talk for those who find being confined for any amount of time too difficult. Whatever works in your world.
Friday daytime:
I have a larger room in Chatham with beautiful views of the river Medway which is peaceful and soothing for the soul.
Here I offer 121 sessions as in Rochester and I also offer group therapy for parents of SEN children who can be overwhelmed by the enormous task and worry before them.
My first session
Our first session is our contracting together where we discover our pathway. If there are any special needs to be taken into consideration at this time we will discuss going forward and how we can work towards your goals.
