About me and my therapy practice
I believe in the power for each of us to heal ourselves; we need a safe and supportive environment to begin this process and Counselling and psychotherapy can be an important part of this.
I am a fully qualified therapist living and working in east London. I have over twenty years experience of counselling, motivational and coaching experience with a background in both mental health work and the field of substance use.
I also specialise in the area of Trauma and deliver Training on this subject to social services.
I want to encourage you to use the space to explore whatever has brought you here- this might be issues connected to past experiences, even childhood; it might be issues to do with relationships with other people in your life. It could be issues to do with food, body image, sexuality, health or how we are dealing with worry, stress, or feeling stuck.
As a Therapist I offer a safe, empathetic, and non judgemental space for you to explore whatever areas of your life you want to focus on. As we go though this process together this journey and process may change but as long as we are committed to working in an alliance with each other we can flow with these changes.
It will be my job to help you achieve more clarity for yourself and together we find ways to help you achieve a greater sense of freedom and self understanding .
Practice description
I work flexibly and offer fortnightly counselling sessions and montly life coaching sessions. You can expect warmth and acceptance in the room with me and also challenge and at times you may have strong feelings as you process material in the therapeutic space. This is all welcome as a part of our alliance together.
I want my clients to feel comfortable and respected and above all to feel heard and understood. The session is their space and it is my job to reflect back and clarify and times challenge what is being discussed.
My first session
My first session with you will be chance for out both meet and get to know each other. It will enable me to get a clearer idea of what you would like from the sessions. This session will usually involve talking about some of the practical details of the arrangement we make together, as well as what you would like to focus on in the sessions.
The first session can be a bit scary for someone who has not experienced therapy before but it’s worth remembering that most clients feel this way and that also your therapist may be nervous too ( being human!).
