About me and my therapy practice
I am a very experienced counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. I am empathic and compassionate and help you to feel comfortable with finding difficult discoveries through therapy. I specialise in mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. I offer a warm, safe space to explore your issues, through talking therapy on a 1:1 basis
The issues associated with mental health that I work with include:
relationship problems, including divorce, breakdown in communication with family members or friends, and domestic violence.
Childhood trauma, bad/neglectful experiences which affect adult life.
Life changes such as adult children leaving home, retirement, change of location etc.
Experiencing anxiety, a lack of motivation, not feeling connected to your life.
Bereavement and loss, this could include loss of job, identity, lack of purpose or the death of someone close to you or missing someone who was a huge part of your life.
Diagnosed with or someone close to you diagnosed with a disability/health condition. Help with coming to terms with this.
Perimenopausal/menopausal symptoms such as brain fog, anxiety, irritability etc.
Pregnancy difficulties and or birth trauma
I am disability confident and work with diagnosed/undiagnosed ADHD/ASD people
(This list is not exhaustive please ask if your issue is not listed)
Practice description
I work online using Teams or telephone, I also offer face to face consultations within your home locally or at a therapy room in Faversham charged at £55.
The place you choose to invest in you, needs to be free from distractions and somewhere where you feel comfortable to talk.
You will be able to talk freely about what you choose to. You will not be forced to talk about anything, it is your choice entirely. The freedom of being able to talk without judgement and not worrying about hurting your loved one’s feelings is a huge reason why people come into counselling. Getting a professional perspective of your problems/issues can benefit you for years to come long after therapy has finished.
I work in an integrative way, which means I adjust and tailor to your needs. Everyone is different so one size does not fit all. Having knowledge about the psychology behind thoughts and feelings and how they connect to your life is key in helping you find a happier place.
I charge £50 per 50 minute session for online or telephone sessions. I charge £55 for sessions in Faversham therapy room. I offer concessions, so please feel free to ask if you need to. Payment is made by BACS transfer 48 hours prior to your booked session. My cancellation policy is 48 hours, the full price of the session will be charged without this notice.
I offer a 10 minute free telephone chat before therapy starts for any questions to be answered if required.
In the first contact please email me at brighthopecounselling@gmail.com explaining briefly why you would like to enter counselling at this time, and your availability. I will aim to reply within 2 days, but this is not always possible if I am away or at a particularly busy period.
As this is private therapy, there is not a set amount of sessions. A review is incorporated every six weeks, to see if any adjustments need to be made, or a managed ending is due. Therapy sessions can be terminated at any time, by either party and a managed ending will be discussed.
My first session
Your first session would have been pre-booked by email.
The first session is an assessment of your needs, it involves some questions and we can work out together your needs for therapy. It gives us both the opportunity to see how well we can work together and if we are a good fit for each other.
There is no obligation to continue therapy if either party does not feel they could benefit from our work.
I offer concessions on a sliding scale, just ask and I’m sure we can come to a reasonable arrangement.
