Availability

I offer both face to face and online appointments to suit your needs.

Depending on timings, I am also able to offer online therapy to international clients.

About me and my therapy practice

Counselling, therapy, and self-discovery for adults and young people (16+).  Availability in person and online.

As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I bring together effective contemporary approaches to therapy from a variety of approaches to suit your individual needs within open-ended therapy or a structured one-to-one programme. I draw on many different theoretical models such as relational, attachment based, psychodynamic, person centred, cognitive and behavioural approaches, and energy work.

I offer options for therapy: There's structured therapy, within the INSIGHT programmes, which bring together the very best effective contemporary approaches from across the spectrum of psychotherapy. We'd work together on a one-to-one basis, developing a stronger foundation of self-knowledge and a clear understanding and approach to past, present, and future challenges that feels both enlightening and empowering. We will aim to build an authentic confidence and a better sense of direction. The INSIGHT programmes are particularly well suited to those who would like to work on any of these areas:

  • Changing unhelpful, destructive, or repeated patterns of behaviour
  • A deeper understanding of oneself
  • Making sense of themselves within important relationships
  • Combating depression
  • Challenging anxious thoughts and feelings
  • Improvement in confidence
  • Tackling indecision
  • Feeling empowered
  • Finding direction (educational, professional, relationships)
  • Improved effectiveness
  • Development of self-identity

To find out more, simply visit:

www.darylnicholas.com/insightprogrammes

Alternatively, open-ended therapy works well for those who would like a space to talk, explore, and grow over a longer period. This is particularly suited if you would like an on-going space in which to be supported and guided, and/or have a specific challenge or experience (which is not listed above) that you would like to process, and/or if you feel you are struggling to get by with life's challenges.

Practice description

I have seven years extensive training experience in counselling and psychotherapy, and more than sixteen years of experience of supporting people of all ages to lead more comfortable, satisfying, and enjoyable lives. In addition to my private practice, I work as a consultant for the NHS, provide training to community health teams, and work with CAMHS and CMHTs.

I have lengthy experience supporting adults and young people (16+) to address a range of issues, including:

  • Depression
  • Stress
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Identity issues
  • Trauma / abuse
  • Low self-esteem
  • Relationship issues
  • ASD/ADHD/Other neurodiversity
  • Life transitions
  • Careers and life direction

There are times in everyone's life when things are tough, distressing and feel overwhelming. We might find ourselves repeating unhelpful and destructive patterns in the way we behave or relate to others. At these times, therapy can be life changing.

If you're struggling -- with life, with relationships, with work/study, with distressing experiences or circumstances, with your own thoughts or feelings, or you are just tired of having to fight the world every day -- it can be a lonely experience. Please give yourself permission to ask for support. You don't have to face it all on your own. Therapy gives you an ally who will walk alongside you as you face your challenges, go through ups and downs, and enjoy breakthroughs, progress, and success. All of this in a supportive, safe, and confidential space.

The best way to get in contact with me is via visiting www.darylnicholas.com, using the message function, via text message, or via email. I will aim to respond promptly.

If you email me, or use the message function, please add daryl_nicholas@outlook.com to your email contacts to allow responses to your messages to arrive in your inbox.
