About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I offer counselling to adults and young people. Counselling can help you to understand your thoughts and feelings, it can help you to make connections, and become much more self aware, whilst giving you the confidence to express yourself better within your personal relationships. I often describe the counselling process like a dress rehearsal for real life. Whilst you have counselling, you will build your self awareness and start to develop a deeper understanding of you as a person.
As your counsellor, I would like to help you to find your voice, by providing a space that’s confidential and safe, where you can explore your emotional pain or any challenges you may be struggling with.
Having qualified in 2013 as a person centered counsellor, I have since undertaken various training in a range of topics. I love to work creatively with young people and adults, and work often using sand tray therapy along side talking therapy. However, the way in which I would work is dependent on the needs of you as my client and what you feel comfortable with.
My job is to hold the space for you, whilst you use the sessions as you wish, I am always led by my clients and will join them where they need to be at that moment. I will offer a non judgmental and confidential space, but will gently challenge where appropriate. Counselling is about taking risks and these risks sometimes mean challenging yourself at times.
If you are finding things difficult at the moment, or have a child/teen that are struggling please feel free to get in touch for a chat about how counselling can help.
Practice description
I offer sessions online via zoom and face to face from a therapy room based in Harrow, North West london. The sessions are usually weekly and are 50 minutes long. I offer short term or long term counselling, depending on the needs of you as a client, and we will continue to review our work together, to ensure you are getting what you need from counselling.
I have worked with a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, low self esteem, self harm, identity issues, anger management, bereavement and more.
My first session
Before an initial session is booked in, we would book in a 30 minute initial consultation session via zoom, this is an opportunity to meet and to see whether we can work together. An essential part of counselling is the relationship between counsellor and client, so this initial session would be based around how we would work together and essentially whether we are a ‘good fit.’
This consultation session is charged at £25.
Before this session, I would send out via email some paperwork, a copy of the counselling contract, an intake form and parental agreement (if working with a young person) this gives you an opportunity to have a look through the details surrounding confidentiality and other aspects of counselling, like boundaries, cancellations and so on.
Accessing counselling can feel daunting and anxiety provoking, but I would like to reassure you that the first step is always the most difficult. There isn’t a problem that’s too big or too small, if it’s affecting you and your life then talking about it can help you to move forward.
