About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced and fully qualified therapist with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work with adults of all ages and also have extensive experience working with children and young people, from a diverse backgrounds, tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each client. My training and clinical experience have equipped me with a flexible, client-centred approach, enabling me to support wherever you are in your journey.

I work with both present experiences and also explore how our past histories shape who we are today, influencing our relationships with ourselves and others. I strive to work collaboratively with clients to help them discover their own unique path to improved well-being. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is central to my practice, providing a non-judgmental space where trust and safety can develop, to allow for meaningful self-exploration. With increased awareness of ourselves, developed through our work, there is the opportunity for more choice and hopefully for change and personal growth. I believe in the strong connection between mental and physical well-being, and have seen that the benefits of therapy can positively impact both aspects of our health.

My clinical approach is integrative, drawing from a range of theories and frameworks. It is informed by Person-Centred and Psychodynamic principles, and is underpinned by a belief in an individual’s inherent potential for growth. I offer a blend of traditional talking therapy as well as inviting a more creative approach to help explore and understand our experiences, which can be especially useful when feeling stuck or struggling to find the right words to convey our experience. I tailor my practice to meet your individual needs, including the duration of therapy, and we can discuss this in our initial consultation.

Practice description

I offer in-person sessions in East Finchley.

Sessions are 50 minutes and take place on a weekly basis at the same day/time as agreed in the initial session.

If you'd like to continue working together following the initial session, I usually ask that you commit to 6 further sessions, at which point we will have a review to see how you are finding our work together. We will discuss whether you’d like to continue working with an open-ended agreement, or for a fixed number of sessions, or to end therapy.

My first session

The first session is an assessment, so that we can understand the reason you are seeking therapy and explore what we can work on together.

In our first session, typically, we would think about what has brought you to therapy, a little about your background, your hopes and expectations for therapy and I would outline how we could work together.

If you feel that I am the right therapist for you, I will offer you a regular appointment, although there is no commitment should you not wish to continue. If this does not feel the right fit for you, for any reason, I would be happy to support you to find an alternative therapist.
