About me and my therapy practice
About your situation
Perhaps troublesome thoughts, feelings and behaviours are repeating over and over. It may be frustrating to consider that life is passing by and you are not making the most of it.
These are some common issues where I find psychotherapy is effective:
- repetitive patterns of anxiety, depression and distress
- feelings of low confidence and low self-worth
- trouble in relationships
How psychotherapy can help
As you talk freely you may find that you can better understand your inner world. We work together to help you to unburden the parts of you that are stuck or distressed.
Through our work together we aim to increase:
- enjoyment in your day to day life
- feeling OK with who you are
- a sense of safety and security
- the energy to get on with the things that are important to you
To find out more...
If this sounds right for you, there are a few things you can do to explore further.
You can find out more about my psychotherapy work on my website (www.graemejardin.co.uk).
You can call (07909107447) or email (use form on the left). I would be happy to discuss your needs and answer any questions that you may have, with no cost or commitment to proceed further.
You can arrange to meet me for an initial consultation.
If we decide to work together, the ongoing sessions are weekly and 50 minutes long.
Qualifcations
I have an MA in Core Process Psychotherapy and have trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) to level 3.
Practice description
The experience is different for everyone, so please take this is a general outline.
Most clients settle into the psychotherapy environment over the first few sessions. They build confidence that they can speak freely, and that what they say will be received with respect and consideration.
In the first six sessions or so, we look at your life experiences and we start to see the different internal parts that make up your inner world. This process enables some clients to see things in a new way and make some practical decisions or changes.
Over the next few months, we explore your inner experience in more depth. “Inner parts” become more accessible and are understood more clearly. You begin the process of recognising and letting go of unhelpful patterns and burdens that are held within your inner system. As these burdens are released, you find that things can be done differently. This may be about the way you see yourself, or the way you respond to others. You may find some new freedom to make healthier choices and feel lighter and happier.
My first session
I recommend starting with an initial consultation session, to talk about your concerns and consider further sessions.
During an initial consultation we can talk in depth about your situation and how we could work together to improve it. By the end of the initial session we aim to agree if we would like to continue working together.
If you would like to talk on the phone before booking an initial session, I am happy to talk about your concerns and answer questions – there is no charge for a phone call.
