About me and my therapy practice
Trained in the person-centred approach and graduating from Queen's University Belfast in 2007 I gained counsellor/psychotherapist accreditation in 2010 which was when I set up my private practice, Attuned Counselling Services, on a small scale back then while working with other counselling providers. I moved into my counselling premises in Gilford, Northern Ireland in 2016 where I am currently located, offering counselling and clinical supervision sessions face to face, telephone and online.
I offer counselling for young people age 16-18 (with parental consent), couples counselling and individual counselling/personal therapy to adults.
My training is from a person-centred foundation incorporating psychodynamic, cognitive and creative therapy and trauma informed methods. Therapy is tailored to meet individual need.
I have worked in the community and voluntary sector in a variety of roles - befriending, counselling and mentoring, managing a team of counsellors and co-ordinating counselling in an agency setting and in post primary schools as a children and young person's counsellor. All very rewarding and different environments but ones which have given me the tools to offer a bespoke relational therapeutic service to my clients.
Practice description
Whether you come for yourself or to work on your relationship as a couple I can help you make sense of what is keeping you stuck so that you can move towards a life that is thriving rather than striving.
You might be seeking counselling to address a particular issue or you might not even know why you feel the way you do. Either way when you take time and invest in you it's worth it because you're worth it (it's not just an advertising cliche).
Counselling doesn't have to be the last resort in a crisis. it's about looking after ourselves so that we have energy for the life we want to live.
The quality of attunement in a therapist is his or her ability to capture and express the sense of how you are feeling in the moment. You feel heard. You feel that the counsellor experiences you and responds in a way that best fits your needs in the moment and it is this quality that is believed to be essential for therapeutic change.

About me and my therapy practice
I have been working as a supervisor since 2011 and bring a broad rage of personal and professional experience into supporting therapists in their clinical practice both those working with in private practice and within agencies.
I offer face to face, online and telephone supervision sessions from my private practice premises in Gilford, Northern Ireland.
Practice description
My previous roles in mentoring and line managing a team of counsellors within a community and voluntary agency and with schools counselling work has enabled me to bring a wealth of experience to people working as counsellors, couples therapists, schools counsellors.
I am also keen to promote clinical supervision to other professionals who do not have a mandatory requirement for this type of support but which, in my opinion, is sorely needed given the level of burn out in the caring professions. Professions such as clergy, health care providers, teachers and social workers.
My first session
You will have an idea of what you need from supervision and have researched directories and websites looking for your ideal match. If you have made it this far and feel like we could work together please get in touch by email or phone/text to arrange a further discussion.
The first session is to talk through the practicalities of the contract and can be arranged face to face or online.
