About me and my therapy practice

Thankyou for visiting my profile page.

I do hope you find the support, guidance or counselling that you need at this time.

Counselling Service offer

  • Counselling can be life changing.
  • It can help resolve and understand a variety of presenting issues.
  • Counselling offers a space to  reflect.

Collaboratively we agree on a counselling arrangement that promotes;

Self discovery,  client led,  understanding, aid change and enhance overall wellbeing.

My approach to counselling originates from psychoanalysis,  I practice as a psychodynamic counsellor. I've found this method to be highly effective it can be transformative.

Psychodynamic principles and concepts  are  useful tools to  help understand a range of presenting issues  and can be offered over a longer and shorter period of time.

I also offer  solution  focused therapy such as; Cognitive behaviour therapy and  Brief psychodynamic counselling.

Practice description

What is psychodynamic counselling and what does it look like in practice?

Sometimes we are not aware of what drives behaviours, relationship difficulties,  unhelpful ways of thinking, disorders etc. Psychodynamic counselling will explore the concept of the unconscious and maybe bring this into awareness.

We will spend time talking about your relationships, childhood, traumas and patterns of behaviour.

You will find I listen to you in a different type of way and utilise our relationship to guide and inform our work. Together we will explore and understand  you in more depth that will hopefully provide insight and aid change.

This is a slightly less flexible counselling approach than does require commitment. Counselling sessions will be set at the same time each week any disruptions to our work are ideally kept to a minimum.

My first session

Your first session will be an assessment  but also an opportunity to experience what counselling will feel like, It sets the scene for future work.

Together we can decide what might be helpful for you right now or long term. Following our first session it should highlight our mutual understanding on what your looking for. At this stage I will be able to provide a counselling service offer.
