Practice description

I understand that this may be a difficult time for you, and that you may be feeling lost, or confused, or stuck, but sometimes all it takes is to start talking to someone, to begin to feel the weight of the burden start to ease, or a shift within yourself, which may mean you do not feel so lost anymore.

It’s a scary thing to do, to reach out and talk to someone you don’t know, but rest assured, everything which you bring to the counselling sessions is treated in the strictest confidence.

My hope is that the way we work together, will allow you to explore those things which may be feeling difficult for you at this moment in time.

I am a qualified person centred counsellor, and as such my counselling technique is based on the three main tenents of empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard. To me these translate as, I will work with you in an open and honest way, that is caring, compassionate and non-judgemental.

My first session

In the first session we can discuss the things you wish to work on and how we will work together going forward.

We will also go through a brief contract of how we will work together, this will cover basic elements such as confidentiality and the cancellation process.

There will also be space for you to ask any questions that you may have or to voice any worries that you may have if this is your first time in counselling.
