About me and my therapy practice
Hello! Congratulations on taking the first step in finding a therapist, not an easy task I know. My name is Ros and I have been in private practice in Guildford for 20 years. I am fully qualified and accredited which means I have been assessed by the BACP as a 'Competent, Independent and Ethical Counsellor' so you are in safe hands. I am an integrative counsellor and use different therapeutic approaches depending on your needs. I attend further training and workshops and am in regular supervision. I offer warm, respectful listening and will do my best to make you feel comfortable during our sessions: I know it can be nerve-wracking talking to a stranger about your deepest feelings.
Practice description
I see individuals from the age of 16 upwards and am experienced in all emotional issues including relationship problems (partners, family, friends, work colleagues), depression and anxiety, panic attacks, grief and loss, control and abuse, sexuality issues, lack of confidence, assertiveness and low self-esteem. I have extensive experience in working with clients who suffer from lack of confidence and can help in empowering you to say 'no' more often and stop putting yourself second. I can help you unravel complicated feelings, face change, gain perspective and clarity and give you emotional support at a troublesome time. I love my work and will do my best to help you find a way forward that is right FOR YOU.
My first session
Your first appointment will be one hour long at a reduced fee of £35 and I call this our 'finding out' session. You can tell me what has been going on for you and you can decide whether you feel comfortable and whether you would like to commit to some more sessions. There is no pressure and I am happy for you to go away and have a think about it; after all, finding a therapist you can share your most personal self with is one of the most important decisions you will make.
