About me and my therapy practice
I have worked as a therapist for over twenty-five years and completed thousands of clinical hours of practice. During this time I've had extensive practice of delivering psychological therapy within NHS settings. I am both BACP and EMDR registered and accredited working with PTSD, trauma, anxiety and depression.
My fee is £75.00 per session which lasts for 50 minutes.
During my work, I have seen how effective therapy can transform people's lives. Witnessing people become empowered to make healthy changes in their lives, is what it's all about. I am committed to supporting you to change your life around.

TESTIMONIAL
"I was nervous about starting therapy. However, Joanna soon put me at ease. I was feeling depressed and triggered a lot after the death of my husband. Together, we used a combination of talking therapy and EMDR. Joanna helped me develop coping skills and gain new ways of thinking. Now, I feel so much better and have started to enjoy my life again."
Female 52.
My first session
When we first meet, we can get a sense of what you are struggling with and think about what would be most helpful for you. I work collaboratively, so together we can work to find the right approach for you. In the first session, I tend to ask, what has brought you to therapy, what's going on in your life right now and what goals you would like to set for yourself.
My goal is to help you cope and give you the support to work through your distressing thoughts and feelings. This can help you gain new perspectives, and help you understand your emotions and behaviour. We are all born with the potential to live a meaningful and fulfilling life.
Together we can create a treatment plan, and think about the number of sessions that would be helpful.
I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy.
