For 4 years until the end of 2017, I managed the counselling service for Rotherham & Barnsley Mind, A franchise of the national Mental Health Charity. I am qualified as a counsellor for depression (CFD) and have have a Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision, as well as a certificate in Intimate Partners Therapy/counselling counselling form the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology. Practice description
My P.G supervisor training was in 2011/12 with York St John University. I work from a relational model of supervision, and use Robin Shohet - Freedom to practice, along with the 7 Seven-Eyed process model approach - Hawkins, as my core theoretical models. I always like to be curious with the interplay between counsellor and client and explore this within supervision.
My own supervision is very cathartic and invaluable to me. I aim to be able to offer the same to all my supervisees.
My first session
I like to offer a free 20 minute meeting for potential supervisees, which gives us both an opportunity to see if we feel we can work together. Getting the right supervision is so important for the wellbeing of both the therapist and their clients.
