About me and my therapy practice
I work through building a warm and supportive relationship with you which allows you space to explore the issues that are causing concern. As far as possible, I work in the ‘here and now’ using sensitive observations to help you to increase your awareness of yourself. With enhanced awareness, it is possible to discover those ‘hidden’ parts of oneself which can result in more satisfying work and family relationships. Together we can challenge unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour which might be limiting your personal growth or keeping you 'stuck'. We will achieve this through a strong and supportive client-counsellor relationship in which an honest and open conversation can take place and you will have creative autonomy to find your own answers.Practice description
These rooms are close to London Bridge station and Borough High Street and tube stations. They have a comfortable waiting area and a lift. There are local cafes if you are very early. My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and explore together the issues you are bringing and whether I can help. It is a time for me to take some background which will inform the therapy and my thinking and a time for you to ask questions about what therapy with me might be like. At this session we will also talk about whether you are seeking long or short term work although this can change as the work develops. The therapeutic relationship is vital to how the work progresses and so being as sure as you can be about your practitioner choice is really important. If I think you need a different sort of pathway I will discuss this with you and offer some onward referrals if I can. What I can help with

About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified integrative psychotherapist. My core training is in Gestalt practice and my later training was in relational integrative psychotherapy. I am a BACP accredited practitioner and a member of the UKCP. I work to the ethical frameworks of both organisations. This means working always with your safety and wishes in mind.
Practice description
I work with your feelings and awareness to try and help you find your own answers to the questions you might have. Gestalt theory privileges the belief that each individual has the capacity to become integrated, whole, individuated and so on through one's contact with others and with the world. In fact we are constantly in this state of "becoming." The therapist is an ally, witness and facilitator in this process of growth. This is why it is a relational practice in which both parties are engaged, activated and present.
My first session
Our first session is 50 minutes long. I will take a brief history and give time for you to explain why you are seeking therapy and what you hope to gain from coming. It is a mutual process of "assessment" and there is no obligation on your part. If I feel I cannot best meet your needs, I will try to help you find a therapist who can.
