About me and my therapy practice
In our modern world, we face an overwhelming amount of information, pressure, and responsibilities. The constant bombardment of tasks, expectations, and comparisons can leave us feeling stressed and overloaded. This can sometimes overwhelm us, leading to a short circuit in our mental health. This, in turn, can manifest in a number of ways such as depression, anxiety, difficulty in making decisions, sleep problems, obsessive behaviour, compulsions, sadness, procrastination, low self-esteem, financial stress, general stress, lack of motivation, addiction, body disorders, identity anxiety, and many more.
The work of psychotherapy is to help individuals rediscover themselves amidst all of the modern chaos. To find a way to live with ease, calm and happiness through whatever life throws at us.
Psychotherapy can be transformative, helping you rediscover your true self and navigate through life's challenges. Together, we can explore ways to shift your outlook and perspective, empowering you to create the life you want. Alongside creating a positive irelationship with your self.
As an integrated therapist, I draw from various theories and models, ranging from classical psychodynamic thinking to contemporary views from existentialists and transpersonal theorists.
This means I can provide you with a comprehensive toolkit of different approaches to explore and find what resonates best with you.
All the knowledge that I have I will give to you, so that when there’s another short circuit moment you can find a way to heal yourself.
Therapy is collaborative and you have the power to bring positive changes into your life. The work provides a supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences, and develop strategies to overcome challenges. If you have any specific areas you would like to focus on or any questions, please feel free to contact me on 07786488766 or emmadashwood@counsellingpsychotherapyoxford.com.
