About me and my therapy practice

It can be hard to find the answers to your difficulties particularly when you are feeling overwhelmed, unsure that you can trust in your ability to make decisions, feel confused by past experiences, or struggling with changes to recent relationships or personal circumstances. I am here to offer support, and help you find the answer to, or acceptance of, your individual experience.

Together, we can explore the complexities of your life and begin to understand the impact on your emotional well-being, which if left unresolved can sometimes create physical problems such as interrupted sleep patterns, loss of appetite, and low energy levels.

I have a MSc in Advanced Counselling & Supervision, a first class BSc (hon) in Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Level 5 Diploma in Systemic/Relationship Therapy.

Due to my person-centred approach and my understanding of the importance of the therapeutic relationship, I offer a initial 30 minute session. If following this session you feel happy that we can work together, subsequent session will be £50 an hour.

Couples therapy is £60 an hour.

If you like to make an appointment, please do not hesitate to contact me.

About me and my therapy practice

I am both a person-centred and systemic therapist.  I gained my qualification in Supervision as part of my MSc from the University of Salford.

I have previously worked within the NHS and the prison service as a counsellor, although I am now in full-time private practice working four days a week.

I manage a Counselling Practice based at Inglestan House, which offers person-centred,  CBT, and hypnotherapy by fully qualified and registered therapists who are contracted in, to young people, individuals, and couples.

I am also a couples counsellor for the Relationship Hub in Bury, and a Supervisor for 1Point Bolton.

Supervision sessions are £50.00 for an hour, £70.00 for an hour and a half.

If you are interested in supervision, then I would be happy to meet you for a free 30 minute chat, so that you can explore further my role as a supervisor and discus your expectations, before making the decision of working together.

Practice description

I believe that supervision should be a collaborative relationship between supervisor and supervisee that promotes a continually evolving practice which is achieved by agreed boundaries, an understanding of one another’s expectations, an appreciation of the supervisees’ development to date, and an understanding of how the supervisee wishes to continue their learning journey: all of which can be discussed and agreed in a contract.

I feel that there should be some recognition of any perceived power dynamics within our relationship and of the wider context within which I, as supervisor, and the supervisee might practice, and how this may influence the supervision.

I believe that supervision plays an important role in promoting and developing ethical practice: through my actions as supervisor, and my willingness to explore ethical dilemmas within the context of the supervisees’ moral stance, ethical framework, and the law. The supervisee should feel supported in the relationship and trust that they can bring forth issues without fear of judgement thus enabling them to bring into awareness their inner-voice: providing an opportunity to reflect on their experience of connecting with someone else, explore the relationship, shed light on where emotional and life experiences cross boundaries, and challenge any barriers.
