About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced and qualified Counsellor based in Walton on Thames offering counselling to clients with a wide range of issues which are detailed below. I also have an extensive social work background where I gained substantial experience in working with traumas such as child abuse, domestic violence, and drug and alcohol problems. In addition, I am experienced in relation to the area of children with special educational needs and the challenges faced by these families.
In working with you, I am committed to providing you with counselling within a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment where you will feel accepted. I hope my mature insights, warmth and empathy will encourage you to share some of your more difficult feelings with me as our relationship grows. I in turn remain committed to sitting with you through your more difficult and painful moments, as your history unfolds. In my relationship with you, I aspire to be congruent at all times, paying due regards to my own thoughts and feelings.
My counselling approach is Integrative and underpinned by a relational and developmental framework. Essentially, this means that I regard our therapeutic relationship and the developmental history you bring, as important issues for us to consider as we work together. I am flexible in my approach and draw on a wide range of psychological therapies in order to provide a tailored response to your personal history and needs.
I am happy to work with you on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time-period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and live it more fully.

Practice description
I offer face to face and online/telephone counselling dependant on your needs and preferences.
In our sessions together, I will offer you a quiet and confidential space for you to discuss any issues which you would like to bring. I will listen with compassion, and through a collaborative approach I will help you to find your own solutions.
I am an Integrative Therapist and will therefore draw upon a range of different approaches in order to help you achieve the changes you desire.
My first session
Our first session together will be an Initial Consultation which will last for 30 minutes and will be charged at a reduced fee of £25.00. This session will enable us to meet together and for you to get a sense of me and how I work. It will be important for you to feel we are a 'good fit' for counselling to be successful. I will consider what has brought you to counselling at this point, and ways in which I may help you.
Following the session, we will reflect upon our experience together, and discuss the prospect of arranging some ongoing sessions.
