About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Elizabeth and I am a UKCP Accredited Psychotherapist, Counsellor, Supervisor and EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner as well as a Registered Member of the BACP. I work in a "person-centred" way which means that my work is tailored to the needs of each client to create a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment in which they can explore issues and affect change in their lives. I have been described as being insightful, warm, understanding, down to earth, patient and having an ear for noticing detail. I’m particularly skilled at facilitating clients to make sense of their experiences. I aim to put clients’ interests first, respect their autonomy and confidentiality, and value diversity; all within clear ethical boundaries. Clients experience relief that they can be themselves whether that’s feeling sad, happy, angry, despondent, confused or other emotions. I accept self-referrals and referrals from Private Medical Insurance & EAPs. Please visit my website www.reflectchangebe.com or contact me directly if you require further information.
Practice description
This listing is for my private practice in Market Harborough, Leicestershire.
I work from my own professional counselling rooms in Market Harborough. This practice is on the ground floor and may be suitable for wheelchair access if able to travel on a gravelled drive.
My preference is to work with clients face to face, but do have some clients whose circumstances mean that I work face to face, as well as online / via telephone.
My first session
I am happy to speak to potential clients on the phone beforehand to support them in their decision making.
The first session will comprise of an informal assessment of what the client needs from our therapeutic relationship, contracting so the client enters into the relationship with informed consent, as well as the client getting a feel of what it is like to work with me as a therapist.
After making the initial contact; getting to the first session is often the most nerve-wracking experience for clients, and there is often a sigh of relief by the end of the first session when the client realises that the experience wasn't as scary as they had imagined!

About me and my therapy practice
I offer online or face to face daytime supervision to trainees and qualified psychotherapists and counsellors from any approach who hold the therapeutic relationship central to their work and are open to working relationally in supervision. I've had exposure to theories from other humanistic modalities, and therefore can often find points of common ground.
Practice description
My core philosophical approach is Person-centred & Experiential which is integrated with a relational approach to supervision. I've found Hawkins & Shohet's seven-eyed model a useful and accessible model for exploring the therapeutic relationship and other influencing factors with the aim of facilitating both the supervisee's and client's capacity for growthful change.
Having studied to masters level in my core training, I have a sound theoretical knowledge of the core and more contemporary theories within the person-centred approach, and therefore am well placed to support person-centred trainees who would like supervision to enhance and consolidate their knowledge. In addition, I can offer support for the academic and clinical hurdles that trainees have to navigate!
If you have any questions about how I work, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
My first session
I'm happy to speak on the telephone initially to address any questions you have about my approach.
Should you decide you would like to work with me, the first session would be a contracting session, whereby we would outline the scope/boundaries of our working relationship and air hopes and/or expectations and address any fears. It's a chance for us to get to know each other.
