About me and my therapy practice

If you are experiencing difficulty or distress in your life psychotherapy and counselling can provide a time and place for when you most need support. It can also be an opportunity to work through the problems you are facing. Alternatively, it might be that there is some dissatisfaction in your life or that you have lost a sense of purpose or direction. If you are in any such situation my aim is to help you reflect on the issues that are troubling you, help you to seek an understanding of what you are experiencing and to work with you to explore what options there might be to help you through this difficult time.

I provide a safe and confidential space where you can talk about your concerns and hopes for the future. I will work hard to understand your expectations of therapy and to make sense of what is most important to you right now.  I offer both short-term work (based on 12 sessions) or where appropriate sessions based on an open-ended long-term basis.

As a chartered psychologist I have 25 years experience as a mental health researcher that includes working at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London. My research focus has been to seek an understanding of what may put someone at risk for developing a serious mental health problem. I have lectured for over 20 years in the area of clinical psychology and counselling, publishing over 60 articles in the field of psychiatry and psychology.

Qualifications: Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (Regent's University London), Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy & Counselling (Regent's University London), PhD Psychology/Psychiatry, BSc (Hons) Psychology, Chartered Psychologist (British Psychological Society), EMDR trained therapist.

Currently I do not have availability and am unable to take new bookings until April 2025.

The use of the Title Dr in this directory listing relates to the members' research qualification at PHD level, and does not imply a general medical qualification.
