About me and my therapy practice
Hannah Prentice: MA, BA (Hons), PG Dip, Dip. Couns., MBCAP. BACP Registered Counsellor. Professional counselling service offering one-to-one confidential therapy sessions. Experienced therapist offering an additional low cost service for those unable to meet the full rate. Therapy offered in the historical, picturesque and central location of Rochester High Street. Easily accessible by car and public transport and close to all local amenities.
I offer a warm and supportive counselling service with a view to helping people disentangle and understand their feelings in order that they may progress to a place whereby their emotions don't overwhelm them and they can then move forward in their emotions, and therefore, their life.
I offer counselling sessions whereby a client feels supported, accepted and valued, without fear of being judged or dismissed. I greatly appreciate the individuality of each client and work with them and their life story/feelings/issues with this outlook.
To enquire please contact me with any questions you may have; alternatively, to book an initial session, please contact me with your availability and a counselling session can be arranged. Therapy can be short or longer term. Please note I aim to respond to enquiries within 72 hours, although this may be longer over weekends, bank holidays and annual leave.
Fees (in-person/online counselling): £45 per session. Concessionary Fee: £40 (low income: e. g. unemployed, students, retired); please enquire if you feel this applies. Additionally there is some availability at £35 reserved for those most in need; please note these places are limited.
Please note concessionary rates (£35/£40) apply for sessions between 10am and 5pm only (outside of this sessions are charged at the full rate of £45). Sessions last for 50 minutes - payable by cash in the session or by bank transfer in advance.
Telephone counselling: £40 (or £35 if qualify for a concession) per 50 minute session - payable by bank transfer in advance.
Practice description
Counselling sessions are usually weekly, but can also be fortnightly, either initially or after a number of sessions - out of preference and/or to keep costs down and still benefit from the counselling. It is possible to have less frequent sessions (e.g. monthly), however it is usually recommended to have sessions no less than fortnightly in order to reap the most benefit out of the counselling - this is particularly recommended when you first start therapy (if counselling is less frequent than fortnightly, it is recommended to have less sessions only after an initial period of weekly/fortnightly ones).
My first session
The first counselling session may be a little longer than 50 minutes, this session will be used to explore your issues in more detail and discuss what the therapy can offer you. If you feel the therapy is right for you, either in the session or after when you leave - having taken some time to reflect on this after the session, we can then book for further sessions; there is no obligation to continue of course should you feel the therapy isn't right for you. The amount of sessions wanted/required can be discussed in the first session depending on your specific needs and preferences.
