Having had personal experience of mental health issues, I understand that some may feel daunted and worried in taking the first step in contacting a counsellor for help. Problems can arise from anywhere, causing depresson, anxiety, stress, rages, withdrawal from normal life.  Sometimes it can help to have someone there who can untangle the troubles and help you move forward.

Counselling can be a little scary at first, so I'd like to let you know a little bit about my counselling work. I trained in Integrative Counselling, which basically means that I have a number of different counselling approaches in my 'toolkit' which I can use - I don't feel that one approach will suit all clients and often use different approaches with each client. I have had counselling experience within the IAPT service, Sevenoaks Mind, a secondary school and in private practice. I am a member of the BACP (the counselling professional body) which means there are strict guidelines as to how I work with my clients. I also am fully insured for my work.

I can also offer family and couple therapy.

I have a special interest in Autism Spectrum Conditions and hidden disabilities due to personal reasons and have helped many people learn about themselves in relation to this issue - either people with diagnosis, similar behaviours and no diagnosis, families and friends who are finding it hard to learn / live with others with these conditions.   

I work from a quiet, private office in Orpington, Kent which is in a calm garden environment.

I am able to offer face to face, telephone and online sessions.

I am able to offer individual sessions as well as group, and couple counselling.

Westwood Counselling recognises the difficult times that we are still facing. I am now offering half price therapy for those working within healthcare and education settings during the pandemic.

I am integrative counsellor with over 7 years of experience in school, charity and private practice settings.   I currently have a successful counselling private practice through face to face, online and telephone sessions.

I have studied with the Link Centre for my Diploma in Supervision in 2021.

I have a special interest in working with clients with,  and family members affected by, Autism Spectrum Condition, and have significant experience from both personal and professional angles.
