WELCOME TO MY PROFILE
Hello and welcome to my counselling profile ‘Clear Horizons Counselling & Training’.
At this present time, my practice consists of a hybrid model of a choice of weekly online via Zoom/phone and face to face appointments in Welwyn, AL6.
I also offer fortnightly sessions, when I have availability to do so.
Online counselling, which I have offered since early 2020 and completed further training to be able to provide, can offer convenience, flexibility & accessibility if this medium suits your needs. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if I can support you during these still, challenging times.
Availability
Counselling appointments are available Monday & Tuesday afternoons through to evenings, Thursday & Friday evenings and Sunday mornings.
About me and my therapy practice
I specialise in counselling adults (individuals & couples) from a diverse range of ethnic groups & cultural backgrounds, who are experiencing various mental health issues/conditions and are at a difficult times in their lives.
I have spent a number of years working in various community settings, including counselling parents at a children’s centre in London, as well as co-ordinating a voluntary service for a London charity and now, for 12 years, running my own private practice.
In addition, I am a qualified co-ordinator & tutor at a large north London college & have worked in this sector for almost 30 years.
People from all walks of life can benefit from counselling. You may find that you’re struggling with relationships, having a crisis in your personal life, facing bereavement, loss or illness, in an abusive relationship or perhaps experiencing anxiety over work issues. You may have feelings of hopelessness, a lack of self-worth or confidence, depression or stress. Whatever the reasons for your present difficulties, these can be explored in counselling. Counselling can help you to reflect and work through any problems in a safe, secure and non-judgemental environment.
I am a registered member of the BACP and am also an accredited member of the National Counselling Society.

- PGCE in Post-16 Education & Training (University of Hertfordshire)

Practice description
I am an Integrative counsellor, which means that I can offer you a variety of counselling approaches suited to your needs. I can work with you in a range of ways (Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA) and basic Psychodynamic), to help you find a way through your difficulties, so that you can find your own solutions. I offer both short term and long term counselling and have experience of working successfully with counselling students and Employee Assistance Providers.
In addition to my extensive training/experience in many counselling areas including adoption, autistic spectrum condition and couples therapy, I have also offered counselling to a broader client group for 12 years. This includes clients who have experienced low self-esteem/confidence, anxiety & panic, health anxiety, depression, loss/grief and bereavement, abuse, trauma, relationship issues/difficulties, family issues, miscarriage, anger issues, sexual abuse, domestic violence, self-harm, suicidal feelings, OCD, eating distress and adoption. In addition, I have worked with clients who have been diagnosed/identify with a number of conditions/issues including: Bipolar, EUPD/BPD (Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder/Borderline Personality Disorder), ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition)/ including Asperger's syndrome (as previously known), ADHD, Boarding School Syndrome and trauma related to 2nd generation holocaust survivors.
In my almost 30 year role with Barnet & Southgate College, I have also worked with various organisations including Barnet Council and schools in Barnet & Enfield, offering workshops in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MCBT), communication, self esteem and uncertainty/change.
Fees
I offer an initial FREE 15 minute phone/Zoom call and a FREE first 50 minute session.
All weekly sessions are charged at £55 for individuals and £65 per hour for couple. All fortnightly sessions incur an extra £5 fee.
