About me and my therapy practice
I have been working as a Therapist for the last 20 years, in various different agencies, including a GP Surgery and a Hospice. I have also previously worked for Cruse Bereavement Care as a Therapist and Supervisor, and for 16 years managed a Bereavement Counselling Service offering both Clinical Supervision and Training within the Agency.
I work in a Integrative, Holistic way, using tools from different Therapeutic Practices to inform unique working with each Client according to their individual needs.
Life can be very challenging at times, sometimes due to a major event such as losing a loved one or lots of smaller things that build up over time. Therapy helps us to learn how to manage stress and difficult emotions and understand the root cause of our problems. Its about helping people to talk openly about personal challenges within a safe and confidential environment, this then enables working through any presenting difficulties without judgement and at their own pace, therefore enhancing their emotional wellbeing.
Practice description
I work with Adults aged 18 and over. I am based in the centre of St Albans, within easy access by car, train or bus.
Whatever your reason for seeking support, I can offer a safe, confidential, empathic and supportive place to talk through your concerns. I have a special interest in Bereavement and Loss, as everyone of us goes through this throughout and in many different areas of our lives, affecting our loved ones, (including pets) confidence, status, etc. which can have a huge unexpected impact on our ability to cope with everyday living.
My first session
The first Session lasting 50 minutes will be an opportunity for us to both meet and together look at the issues you maybe struggling with. It is also enables you to decide if you feel comfortable with me and whether you wish to continue going forward. If so we will discuss a verbal contract and arrange a mutually convenient time for our next Session.
