About me and my therapy practice
I found out about counselling when I sought it myself and discovered how helpful it can be. My first experience as a counsellor was with the Samaritans, and following professional training, I started my own practice at the Bay Tree Therapy Centre in Christchurch in 2006. As a psychodynamic therapist, I am always interested to hear how you came to be where you are in your life. I also listen to find out what feelings and difficulties may be underlying your present situation, as I believe our decisions are influenced by this deeper layer. I love building a partnership where we can learn more about you and work out how to move your life forward in the direction you would like to take.
Practice description
My practice is based at the Bay Tree Therapy Centre in Saxon Square, Christchurch. This is easily reached by public transport and has parking nearby. We will usually meet once a week, at the Bay Tree, or online, for 50 minute sessions. Payment is by bank transfer, monthly or weekly as we go along, and you will receive invoices and receipts for all payments. The contents of your sessions are confidential to me and are not shared socially with anyone. I consult professionally with a supervisor in order to maintain the quality of my work, and when I do this I will always maintain your anonymity. I also adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework which you can read more about on the BACP website. Please see my website or get in touch with me if you would like any more information.
My first session
You are welcome to call or email me to discuss the help you are seeking. Our initial meeting will last for an hour, and costs £30. We will use this time to explore your current situation, how I might be able to help you, and decide the way forward. You can also use this meeting to see how you feel talking to me and to ask me any questions you like. It is up to you whether you would like to book more sessions, the number of sessions, and how you would like to use them. We may decide that the counselling is not the best option for you, and in this case, I will make recommendations to help you find a better kind of help. If you would like to continue, we can arrange practicalities such as days and times.

About me and my therapy practice
My counselling training was with WPF therapy in London, and I have a Master's in psychodynamic theory and practice from Roehampton University. My supervisor training was with the Iron Mill College in Poole. This has added a creative and relational dimension to my approach. I enjoy working collaboratively with my supervisees, spending time getting to know how you work and what your needs are. I can also help with practical, training, and ethical issues as your career develops.
Practice description
The Bay Tree Therapy Centre is in Saxon Square, Christchurch, easy to get to by public transport and with parking nearby. Take a look at my website for a picture of my consulting room. Supervision sessions are 60 minutes long, and can be fortnightly or monthly. We can also meet online on Zoom if this is easier for you. The fee is normally £60 per 60-minute session, or £85 for 90 minutes. Everything you tell me about your practice is confidential, but of course I will be consulting with my own supervisor, and will let you know if there are any safety concerns over your work, so we can plan how to address these.
My first session
You are welcome to contact me to discuss your needs, and we can meet initially to get to know each other. If you decide you would like to work with me, we can then arrange practicalities such as days and times. There will also be a written agreement to clarify the details of how we will work together. I am happy to spend time looking at all these details to make sure you are comfortable with all our arrangements.
