About me and my therapy practice

My goal is to offer a welcoming, non-judgemental and creative space for you to discover new perspectives and to move towards a depth of understanding of yourself that can be hard to find alone.

Evidence strongly suggests that paying attention to the quality of the therapeutic relationship leads to better outcomes, so as well as being interested in what brings you to therapy, I am also interested in how you experience the process of therapy.

This attentive, thoughtful space can provide an important sense of refuge whether struggling with addiction, exploring questions about around sex or sexuality, feeling overwhelmed with the complexities of relationships, the refuge provided by the therapeutic space can mark the turning point for many people.

By beginning to understand unconscious processes, unresolved conflicts, and early experiences my aim is to assist you on your journey of self-discovery, recovery, and in building more meaningful connections.

Practice description

I am an accredited psychotherapist and psychodynamic counsellor with over ten years of experience working with individuals from my home practice in Brighton and online. I have completed specialist training focusing on trauma, addiction, boarding school syndrome and I am a researcher in the area of nature and mental health. I spent five years as the clinical manager for Gambling Therapy - a charity focused on delivering front-line support to those struggling with the impact of gambling.

My first session

Our first session together might be a good space to begin to understand your reasons for choosing to start therapy at this point, addressing any questions that you may have about the therapy process itself and considering any objectives and expectations that you may have for therapy. The aim of the session would be for you to leave with an understanding of the way in which we might work together - with no pressure to look further ahead than this.

About me and my therapy practice

I provide psychodynamic clinical supervision, offering creative space to support the professional growth of therapists. Drawing on more than 10 years of experience as a psychodynamic practitioner, my goal is to help supervisees explore the complexities of their clinical work by considering unconscious processes and understanding the transference/countertransference dynamics. Through collaborative discussions and case exploration, my aim is to help enhance clinical skills, promote self-awareness, and provide a supportive space for the ongoing development of therapeutic competence. My supervision style is to provide a safe and constructive environment where supervisees can engage in thoughtful reflection, refine their clinical techniques, and effectively navigate the nuances of the therapeutic relationship.
