About me and my therapy practice
Are you struggling to make sense of things? Maybe your confidence is wavering, and it is difficult to see what you want in life.
You may be experiencing changes in your life- leaving home, going to university, children leaving home, relationship changes, serious illness or loss. It can be unsettling finding your way through.
Sometimes these changes can make us feel lacking in confidence, unsure or without a purpose.
We can work together to help you to make sense of things, to help you to understand the situation that you find yourself in. Perhaps to reach a comfort with the change, to adapt to it or to help you discover what you want in life.
If you would like to have a conversation with me to think together about your needs and to see if you would like to work with me, please email me debbieclarecounselling@gmail.com and we can book a phone call.
Practice description
I work solely online, providing 50 minute sessions, usually weekly but I find for some clients, greater gaps between sessions may work best.I have worked in private practice for 7 years, having previously developed a good foundation of experience working in a range of settings, including women’s, stroke, older persons, and mental health charities prior to working with families in a hospice setting.
My background in nursing gave me the opportunity to work with people and families from a diversity of backgrounds, helping them to work through the complexities of their health challenges, adapt to a new way of living, and potentially a different reality.
Yoga is an important part of my life and has helped me through turbulent times. I am a qualified yoga teacher and find that aspects of breathwork and relaxation may sometimes assist in our work together. It has also helped me to recognize the importance of self-care to be the best version of ourselves.
In addition to my professional experience, I also have life experiences as a parent, a carer, of bereavement, of people with additional needs, and of adoption. Resulting in my own personal journey of discovering how to find one’s own stability when the surrounding world feels rocky.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute phone conversation so we can get a sense of each other, your particular needs and how I may be able to help facilitate you meeting those needs.
If you would like to work with me, I would then send you a consent form. Once we have this agreement in place, we can book an initial session.
I work online and offer sessions, weekly, fortnightly, every 3 weeks or monthly dependent on your needs and what works best for you.
I look forward to hearing from you

About me and my therapy practice
Hello, thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
My name is Debbie, I am an experienced counsellor, accredited with the BACP. I work online or over the telephone.
I have an extensive healthcare background working as a nurse and have also worked for a number of charities - hospices, stroke, mental health, older people and women's charities in a support or counselling capacity.
Practice description
As an integrative therapist, I use different approaches to work with you dependent on what you bring.
At the route of our work, is the focus to develop the therapeutic relationship in order that you feel heard, supported and safe to share your concerns.
We can talk about the length of therapy that may be helpful to you, I provide both short and long term therapy.
My first session
Please make initial contact by emailing me at debbieclarecounselling@gmail.com, we can then decide an appropriate time to discuss your needs.
I offer a 30 minute free telephone consultation, this allows us to explore what brings you to counselling, provides you with an opportunity to ask questions and for us to get a "sense of each other". If you feel I am the right person, I will then forward the working agreements to you.
Once these have been agreed we can book a session and begin working together, reviewing the work as we go.
