About me and my therapy practice
Update: As of December 2024 I have spaces for new enquiries.
With over 20 years in practice, my main objective is for you to know that you are welcome exactly as you are. Whatever is on your mind can be explored in a non-critical and open way.
I want you to know that you are safe in your counselling sessions. You can rest assured that it is okay to ‘blurt it all out’, because we will be able to make sense of things together. You can also take your time to think and be quiet as you gather your thoughts. There is no pressure to go into topics you don’t want to speak about. You might find it difficult to explain what you want to address in counselling and what your objectives are – that is fine, as it can take time to clarify these questions.
Practice description
My intentions when working with you
- To listen carefully
- To be genuinely curious
- To offer reflections and observations
- To collaborate with you on finding new ways of thinking and behaving
My first session
The initial session will give you a sense of how I work, what my approach feels like, and to discuss the practical details of sessions such as frequency, payment and other practicalities. We will talk about your goals and get a clearer idea of the direction of therapy. There is no commitment at this point, and at the end of the session you can either decide to come back for more sessions, take some time to consider options or choose to work with somebody else.

About me and my therapy practice
My supervision practice is relational in its nature. A trusting and authentic relationship between the supervisor and supervisee will in turn support a trusting and authentic relationship between the counsellor and client. Within this open and transparent environment, complex ethical issues, emotionally challenging situations and contradictory needs of the counsellor can be safely explored. As trust develops, questions and dilemmas can be attended to without becoming overwhelmed or reactive.
Practice description
My main aim is to allow supervisees to be at ease and to experience the sessions as a place to find support and restore their energy and inspiration. When there is enough trust, supervisees can open up about their difficulties and obstacles. The more we're able to hold questions and difficulties with sensitivity, the more impactful and helpful the sessions can be.
Supervision needs to be able to offer a space where emotional intensity arising from the therapeutic work can be held and contained by the supervisor. The non-judgmental and supportive space allows the supervisees to understand their reactions better and consequently understand the clients better.
My first session
Feel free to contact me for an initial supervision session. This meeting will give you a sense of how I work and what style of supervision you can expect. We will also discuss the practical details of sessions such as frequency, payment and other practicalities. We will talk about your needs in supervision and see how we could best work together.
