About me and my therapy practice
How counselling can help/What to expect:
People seek counselling for various reasons, whether it be to change something in their lives, or simply explore their thoughts and feelings in more depth. Being self-aware and having the capability to think and feel emotions with clarity and understanding is what allows us to make the changes to restore balance, purpose and enhance our lives.
Everything we discuss is held in the strictest of confidence as set out by the ethical framework of the BACP. There are absolutely no conditions or expectations placed upon you. Therapy goes at your pace, it is your time, you are in control. It is a unique journey. It is not about me giving you the answers. It is about us working together to understand your world, yourself and discover your own inner resources. Only the decisions you make will empower you.
Get started:
Call or email me now to set up a first session. We will have an initial telephone conversation, at no cost, to talk about what you want to get out of counselling and go through any questions you have. If you're happy to continue we'll set up a first session to go through an assessment and from then arrange further sessions.
I am registered as a therapist for several organisations including Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, WPA and Vitality Health. These organisations are covered by all the main private health care providers and you will be able to access them via your health insurance.

Practice description
My training/How I work:
I graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have since become an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This means my practice has been deemed to meet the BACP’s highest standard as a competent, ethical and independent practitioner.
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist meaning lots of theories make up my therapeutic toolbox - every client is different; I don’t use a ‘one size fits all’ approach, but the single most important factor of therapy is the relationship we strike up. Having a good rapport with your therapist is essential for productive therapy, therefore allowing different theories to inform my work enables me to find the best fit for you.
I have additional training in:
• Online Counselling
• Sand Tray Therapy
• CBTE for Eating Disorders
• Play Therapy
• Gestalt Skills
• Trauma and the body
