About my Counselling practice

I am a fully qualified and experienced evidenced based therapist in Cognitive Behaviour therapy (CBT). I work with adults and young people on a one to one basis in a confidential, non-judgemental and safe setting. I work within an integrative model which includes aspects of person-centred and CBT approaches.

Practice description

I deliver CBT, an evidence based therapy, via the telephone and on line: This could be Short term or long term and would depend on your individual needs.

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a form of therapy that looks at your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and helps to change of these  faulty thoughts and behaviour  to manage your problems.

A significant  area of this is identifying the negative thinking patterns that you may feel trapped in thus, helping you to break free from these negative thinking  which will enabled you to feel better.

CBT focuses on equipping you with the tools to address current problems in your life and relieve the symptoms you’re facing, before making links to your past and how your beliefs started.

My first session

Our first therapy session is setting Boundaries :  This is  the therapeutic relationship.  The parameters within which the work takes place:  I believe that clear boundaries promote trust between therapist and client and provide clarity about the purpose and nature of the  therapeutic relationship.  This  is also, when as a  therapist and client  we will devise a contract agreed between us: respecting confidentiality, such as time keeping and personal space.  Within my CBT approach I will set homework to help us achieve our mutual goals.
