About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced, culturally sensitive and culturally informed Therapist. I work creatively with children and teenagers in addressing their mental health difficulties. I am child focused and child led, working at the child's pace. I believe this ensures they are invested in their own therapeutic journey.
As no two children or young people are the same, I use a range of creative tools to engage the client in therapy. Allowing them an opportunity to safely explore and express their difficulties in a safe and contained space with a Therapist who genuinely cares about their well being.
Regardless of the presenting problem, I am committed to incorporating confidence and resilience skills in my work with children and young people. I believe that this lays a solid foundation for their future and their sense of well being. My therapeutic work with children also ensures they leave with tangible coping strategies to address their difficulties.
I recognize that children do not exist in a bubble so I believe in working with the network/community around the child or young person according to the child’s needs or presentation. This could be the family or educational setting. I work collaboratively with parents in supporting them in responding to and meeting their child's need outside of the therapy room. Empowering parents(where suitable) to support their child with their mental health difficulties contributes to the success of the therapeutic work. As a trainer on cultural competence & racial identity, this is incorporated into my work. I therefore have specific experience & training working with Black and Mixed Heritage children, I am not dependent on my lived experience alone.

My first session
I offer an initial 90mins assessment session with the parent and child. Typically I see the parent first on their own then I meet with the child on their own. This is however flexible on a case by case basis.
The assessment session is used to explore what brings your child to therapy and will include an exploration of your child's current situation and your child's past. It is also an opportunity for you and your child to see if I am the right therapist for you. As therapy is relationship based, it is important you choose a therapist that both you and your child are comfortable with. In order for your child to feel safe to explore their deeper or more difficult feelings.
Should you decide I am the right therapist for your child, subsequent sesisons will be for 45mins at a rate of £100 per session.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced child and adolescent therapist with over 15 years expereince as a therapist. I also work as consultant and trainer on cultural competency, racial identity & racial trauma.
I offer supervision for those working with children and young people. My main modality is psychodynamic, with my supervsion training being CBT. Working with children and young people requires a great deal of creativity and a child centered approach and over my years of practice, this is a skill I have developed well and contributes to my strength as a supervisor. My ongoing training & development includes mindfulness, solution focused, working systematically with families and transactional analysis.
As well as my private practice, I have worked as a clinical supervisior for a local authority IAPT service offering regular supervision to mental health practitioners and psychological wellbeing practitioners. I also offer supervision to pastoral leads, safeguarding leads and senior leaders in school settings.
I can offer a safe and reflective space where you can feel confident to explore and develop your practice and better understand your clients. Good supervision needs a good working relationship as a foundation. It's important you find the right fit as for you. I could be the right fit for you if you are looking for a personable, honest and experienced supervisor who will offer you containment, support, guidance and encouragement as well as gently challenge you in order to facilitate your growth. I will help you explore working with difference and diversity and develop your cultural competency. As well as keep the client and their journey at the core of our reflections.
