About me and my therapy practice
I'm a highly experienced Psychotherapist practicing in East London and virtually via Zoom or telephone.
Making the decision to seek therapy is often the first step in looking at our issues in a new way and changing the way we think. This takes a great amount of bravery and can feel challenging, but with the right support it can be powerfully life-changing. I primarily work in a relational and intersectional psychodynamic way, meaning I focus on ways in which past experiences, power dynamics and unconscious thoughts impact upon us in our day to day lives. I work collaboratively with clients in order to acknowledge and process these issues in a safe, compassionate, LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent friendly space.
While attending therapy can be a daunting prospect, I try to hold space which feels containing, and aims for clients to feel empowered in exploring their stories freely.
I am a member of the BACP and Birkbeck Counselling Association, and also work as a Clinical Supervisor for the Mental Health charity, Place2Be. I hold an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from Birkbeck University, a Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling from Redbridge Institute and a Certificate in Clinical Supervision from TA East.
Practice description
My private practice runs on Monday and Wednesday evenings and is based in Leytonstone, East London, located two minutes from the Underground station.
I also offer telephone and online therapy via Zoom, both short and long term. Sessions last 50 minutes and are held on a weekly basis.
My first session
I offer an initial free phone consultation which lasts approximately 20 minutes. Following this, if we agree to begin sessions together, our first session will involve taking a history and discerning in more detail your reasons for seeking therapy at this time and how we will work together.Everyone has their own way of processing things, and I feel it is important to go at a pace that clients are comfortable with. If you would like to book an initial session or ask me anything, please reach out via phone or email.
