About me and my therapy practice
Counseling offers a secure, non-judgmental, and confidential environment wherein individuals can freely express complex and perplexing emotions. As a counsellor, my role is not to provide instructions of solutions, but rather to facilitate a process of exploration and self-discovery.
Engaging in counseling is a challenging journey, often unearthing deep-seated and conflicting emotions that may have remained dormant for extended periods. Throughout the therapeutic process, we collaboratively delve into understanding how present emotional and psychological struggles may stem from unconscious thoughts and feelings, often rooted in past childhood experiences.
Embarking on this journey of self-reflection requires considerable courage, as it entails examining ingrained patterns and their origins. However, the rewards can be profound, fostering heightened awareness that positively influences interpersonal relationships and life experiences.
With a foundation in psychodynamic principles and armed with a Master's degree in counselling, I bring over 10 years of clinical expertise working with adult clientele, individual and couples. My professional background includes roles at esteemed institutions such as the Highgate Counselling Centre, Nafsiyat, and as a staff counsellor at the University of Cambridge.
I have a particular interest in addressing issues related to fertility/infertility, pregnancy and miscarriage, birth, and postnatal depression (PND).
I maintain accreditation as a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), adhering rigorously to their esteemed code of ethics.
Practice description
I work with adult clients, couples and other relationship.
I offer open ended therapy or time limited depending on your needs.
I am a Bupa, Cigna recognised counsellor. I work with other Private health insurance companies AXA, Vitality, Aviva, Healix and WPA.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute video or phone call to talk about your issues and if you feel that you would like to go ahead we arrange our first session.
This first session serves as an assessment phase, providing an opportunity for me to gain insight into your unique circumstances. During this session, we will explore the challenges you're facing and the motivations driving you to seek assistance. Additionally, we will discuss your expectations for counseling and how you envision it contributing to your well-being.
This session is designed to offer you a glimpse into our potential working relationship. It's an opportunity for you to determine whether you feel comfortable and aligned with my approach. This session will give you the opportunity to ask questions about the process.
Once you decide to go ahead with counselling, we will arrange a regular time and day to meet for our weekly sessions.
