'I honestly don't know where I'd be if I hadn't started coming to you. I've come such a long way in ways I never thought I could which is in no small part down to you. Your listening, calmness, and thoughts quickly made me feel very comfortable (a rare thing for me) and meant I could really be myself and more honest than I've ever been. Thank you.' (A.W.)
'I really appreciate the way in which you gently challenge me to seek a greater understanding of my own self, the choices I make and how this fits with my patterns of relating and ways of being. I am increasingly aware of the changes taking place within me as a result of our sessions together. Thank you' (L.B.)
'I was personally amazed at how much of myself I could explore and dare to face. With warmth and empathy but always professional Penny was there for me. I cannot thank her enough for the safe space we created together and the strength I now feel to carry on.' (J.N)
Practice description
I have a therapy room at home, in Putnoe, Bedford. It is a quiet calm space overlooking the garden.
I am rooted in Person Centred, and I generally invite you to explore what is happening for you to help you find your own answers. We do this together as I may offer a different perspective or reflect back some of your thoughts and ideas.
I would love to be able to wave a magic wand, but usually clients say what helped them the most is that 'it is good to talk'.

About me and my therapy practice
My training is rooted in the person-centred approach, however I enjoy working with supervisees with all theoretical backgrounds.
I believe you already have an abundance of knowledge and experience whether as a supervisor, counsellor or trainee so I see my way of working is more collaborative to support you as you develop personally and professionally.
Feedback
“I find supervision with Penny very beneficial and usually leave with a new perspective on issues, giving me more clarity and direction. I find Penny easy to talk to. She challenges me to broaden my view and supports me to arrive at conclusions for my questions which help in my development as a counsellor.”(A.D)
'I have built a good and trusting relationship with my supervisor and feel safe and able to discuss any issues or queries without feeling judged. This has enabled me to take on board feedback and feel secure with my clients. I thoroughly enjoy my supervision sessions and feel both supported and challenged which I am then able to implement in my work and have used these sessions to develop my counselling techniques and way of being' (M.L.)
