About me and my therapy practice

“You do not need magic to transform your life. You carry the power you need inside yourself already.”

My name is Karen. I am a wife, mother, and daughter. I have experienced the highs and lows of life; giving me a profound insight into how therapy can reinforce a positive mindset and change lives. I am deeply compassionate towards one’s experiences and provide a consensual understanding by placing the formation of a therapeutic relationship at the forefront of my counselling method. Through individuals being treated with respect, acceptance and understanding, an open and honest relationship can be built.

Practice description

I have worked as a psychotherapist for over 10 years and have worked with a plethora of individuals (aged 4-82), with a range of experiences. My approach utilises my training, professional and life experience, to provide an empathetic listening ear in a welcoming and non-judgemental way.

I provide a safe, transparent and real space where you are free to voice and explore your fears, anxieties and vulnerabilities in confidence. In seeking a friendly and nurturing therapist with whom you are at ease with, you can feel more supported. Moreover, we can work together to progress towards making beneficial changes to your life.

My first session

If you are interested in working together, please get in touch by email or telephone.

I offer a free 15 minute introductory consultation. After which if you wish to proceed, we can schedule an initial therapy session.

In the first session, we will explore what has brought you to therapy. Carry out an assessment to help us identify those areas of your life that you would like us to work on and go through the Counselling Contract together so that you know what to expect from counselling.

The length of therapy needed varies from person to person and we will originally plan to meet for 6 sessions, after which progress  will be reviewed.
