About me and my therapy practice
Do you need a safe space in which to explore the challenges life has thrown at you?
Do you feel as if you can not move on with your life and feel blocked by the problems you face?
I believe that everyone can benefit from talking about their problems and I offer a calm therapy space to explore your difficulties together. We will work together to help you understand that change can be a challenging process but ultimately worthwhile.
I offer counselling to adults, children and adolescents. I am a qualified psychotherapist and specialize in supporting children and young people through the stresses they are experiencing at this phase of their life.
My approach is to allow you to safe and therapeutic environment to support you and allow you to come to an understanding about the changes you need to address to reach fulfillment and a new way of life. I am here to provide a confidential and warm environment in which to begin to understand you in a non judgemental way, ensuring confidentiality. I allow you time and space, to explore the issues you bring to therapy, by working together to discover new ways of thinking to make the changes that feel right for you.
Practice description
I became a psychotherapist and counselor through a personal experience of bereavement and therapy that set me on my current path. I offer an integrative way of working that includes a person - centred approach, which allows us to develop a relationship based on trust, and will incorporate other approaches tailored to need.
The issues I work with include; depression, anxiety, relationships, stress, bereavement, family conflict, trauma, anger, work and school based problems and attachment issues.
I am able to support children and young people with emotional, social and communication difficulties, using play therapy and other creative interventions, by utilizing my knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. My professional career, prior to becoming a therapist, was working within the SEND educational field and I have extensive knowledge and experience of working with children and young people with Communication Difficulties. I specialize in working with adolescents experiencing stress and anxiety related to school and family based issues, including self harming behaviour.
My experience as a practitioner of mindfulness and hyponotherapy means I can support you to develop a range of strategies; these include relaxation and self soothing techniques, solution focused strategies and mindfulness based approaches to allow you to feel more in control of feelings of anxiety and stress.
My first session
I offer a half an hours assessment session (£25) to allow us to decide if we want to work together. During this session I gather basic information about you and begin to identify the issues you will bring to therapy.
