About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling anxious, stressed, down, lost and alone, like no one truly understands? I have many years experience of providing insight, healing and healthy coping strategies for people just as yourself which can help you to cope better, offer relief and help you to feel better about yourself, your relationships and your life.
For me, the most important part of therapy is creating a warm and trusting environment where individuals can feel safe to talk and feel heard and understood as I fully understand that it can sometimes be difficult to talk to friends and family about sensitive topics for many different reasons. My role is not to give advice or tell individuals how to live their lives, but to empower my clients to come to their own conclusions when deciding what changes they’d like to make and how. One of my core beliefs is that it’s mainly relationships that cause the most pain and suffering but it’s also through supportive relationships that the most powerful healing can be experienced.
Practice description
I am an insightful, intuitive and naturally empathic qualified integrative counsellor who has a strong passion to support my clients to begin to heal trauma, raise self-awareness and self-esteem, create healthier behaviours/thinking patterns and make the necessary changes needed to live a full life. I have knowledge and many years experience of working with adults of all ages who are suffering with co-dependency and addiction to alcohol and/or drugs with other cross addiction issues such as food, shopping or gambling etc. I also have many years experience of working with mental health and emotional distress such as depression and anxiety, loss and grief, childhood trauma and abuse, adulthood trauma and abuse, rejection and abandonment, guilt and shame, relationships and boundaries, work related stress and the various different types of stress that impact everyday lives. I am based in the borough of Bromley and South East London.
My first session
The first session will include a detailed assessment of the client's history, current needs and gathering of information i.e. GP details. This will also include discussion and understanding of the ethical and legal boundaries regarding confidentiality. Once this has been completed and consent to continue working together has been given, we will discuss the contents of my written counselling agreement and if consent is given, the client will be asked to sign and date 2 copies and be given 1 of the copies to keep. The client will be informed of my responsibilities of record keeping as a registered data controller with the ICO.
