About me and my therapy practice
Life’s journey can be difficult at times. When we face obstacles or challenges in our lives it can prevent us moving forward and enjoying life. Obstacles may include bereavement or loss, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, low self-esteem, anger or learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, and autism. Being able to talk about these challenges in a confidential, non-judgemental, and supportive environment can be a step in the right direction. Counselling can help unlock feelings, explore experiences and help to gain a better personal understanding of the right path for yourself. I am a qualified counsellor working with people of various ages, including children and young people and adults, experiencing difficulties in their lives. A Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My background is of 17 years in Human Resource and a qualified counsellor practitioner since 2015. My counselling approach puts the client first and integrates the most appropriate counselling model for the person. This counselling approach incorporates the main recognised counselling models such as person-centred, brief solution focused therapy, transactional analysis, psychoanalysis and CBT, matching the counselling model to the client not the other way around. I believe this helps people move forward more effectively. My first session is a getting to know you opportunity. At this session we will discuss the goals of your therapy and explore the best approach for you. It is also an opportunity for you to find out if I’m the right person to help. Throughout the counselling sessions we will regularly review your requirements to ensure that we are meeting your personal goal for therapy. I can be contacted by phone on 07984144812

About me and my therapy practice
Supervision is seen as important for facilitating self-awareness and professional development for the counsellor or therapist (supervisee). Being able to talk about your clients, challenges, ideas, and receive feedback in a confidential and supportive environment can be a step in the right direction to achieve this. However, also key to good supervision is ensuring client's safety and protection which forms the central focus of our supervisory relationship. I believe that through regular supervision these goals are achievable and I can support you in this.Practice description
Trained in Hawkins & Shohet, 1993 'Seven-eyed supervisor' process model and the Integrated Developmental Model (Stoltenberg & Delworth 2002) at the Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy I incorporate these models to fit the supervisee and the supervision relationship. Alongside this, I utilise my wide experience in integrative counselling over 5 years with adults and children & young people and HR management skills in the supervisory relationship. Alongside online and telephone support I am able to offer outside therapy/supervision where appropriate. My first session
The introductory session for to 30minutes is free and is an opportunity for you to see if I'm the right supervisor for you. This introductory session is offered either face to face in my counselling room, by Zoom, or TEAMs or by telephone. I work with both qualified and trainee counsellors.
